Centro Escolar University aims for the knockout blow while Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda vows a counter attack when the two teams clash in Game 2 of their best-of-three semifinal series in the 2024 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Scorpions inch closer to the finals after a stunning win over the Red Lions in the series opener. They have the chance to realize their dream with another win in their scheduled duel at 4:30 p.m.
"We just have to keep on believing that we belong here, that's first. And at the same time, they have to bring that David inside them. We need one more inspiring win before looking ahead," said CEU coach Jeff Perlas.
Ranged against the fancied NCAA champions, the Scorpions showed no signs of fear by pulling off a 75-71 decision in Game 1.
CEU, the UCAL back-to-back champion, also scored a 72-63 win in the classifications against San Beda to steal the No. 2 seed and outright semifinal berth.

It will not be a walk in the park but CEU is ready whatever it takes to get the job done.
The winner of the series will face the winner of the other semifinal duel between two-time defending champion EcoOil-La Salle and Go Torakku-St. Clare.
"The greater the difficulty, the greater the glory," added Perlas.
"Tutal nakapag-gate crash na kami sa semis without the invitation. Panindigan na namin." (JBU)
